Kieran White is recognised as one of the most expressive haute contre tenors<\/i> (high countertenor) of his generation, bringing refined technique, historical insight, and emotional depth to everything he sings. Critics have praised his \u201cexpressive tenor with a clear, ringing tone\u201d and highlighted his \u201cpoised and elegant delivery..\u201d<\/p>\n

Kieran grew up on the family farm in his native of Dorset, and began singing as a chorister at Sherborne Abbey and later Wells Cathedral. He then studied at Wells Cathedral School, before training at the Royal Academy of Music.<\/p>\n

His achievements on the international competition stage include the First Prize at the Aria Borealis Bod\u00f8 International Competition for Baroque Singing<\/i> (Norway, 2022), Second Prize at the Concours International de Chant Baroque de Froville<\/i> (France, 2021), and he was a finalist at the Innsbruck Cesti Competition<\/i>, later returning to perform in the festival\u2019s main opera production.<\/p>\n

His opera appearances include Castor in Rameau\u2019s Castor et Pollux<\/i> (Warsaw Chamber Opera, over three seasons), Hippolyte in Hippolyte et Aricie<\/i>, Val\u00e8re and Tacmas in Les Indes Galantes<\/i>, Damon in Acis and Galatea<\/i>, Oronte in Alcina<\/i>, and appearances in operas by Monteverdi (L\u2019incoronazione di Poppea<\/i>), Gagliano (La Dafne<\/i>), and Cavalli (L\u2019Egisto<\/i>).
