data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div><div><p>Coined the \u2018Swedish Nightingale\u2019, Jenny Lind was born in Stockholm in 1820. Her exceptional voice was noticed at age ten, and as even as a young girl she was enrolled in the Royal Opera School in Stockholm. In 1838 she made her debut at Agathe in <i>Der Freisch\u00fctz<\/i>. Early demands and success overtaxed her voice and this led her to travel to Paris to seek consultation and tutelage from Manuel Garc\u00eda the younger, who immediately prescribed some time of vocal rest before taking her on as a student. In 1842 upon returning to Stockholm her much improved voice was apparent when she appeared in the title role of Norma.<\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">When touring Denmark, in 1843, she met the writer <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hans_Christian_Andersen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"DA\">Hans Christian Andersen<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> who fell in love with her. The two became good friends but his romantic feelings were not reciprocated.\u00a0 She is believed to have inspired three of his <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fairy_tale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fairy tales<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">: &#8220;Beneath the Pillar&#8221;, &#8220;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Angel_(fairy_tale)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Angel<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">&#8221; and &#8220;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Nightingale_(fairy_tale)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Nightingale<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"RU\">&#8220;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and possibly the \u201cSnow Queen\u201d, after what was perceived as an icy rejection from Lind. He wrote, &#8220;No book or personality whatever has exerted a more ennobling influence on me, as a poet, than Jenny Lind. For me she opened the sanctuary of art.\u201d<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn1\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[1]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Among her early admirers were <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Schumann\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert Schumann<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hector_Berlioz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"PT\">Hector Berlioz<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and, most importantly for her, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Felix_Mendelssohn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"DA\">Felix Mendelssohn<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. The pianist and composer, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ignaz_Moscheles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ignaz Moscheles<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">wrote: &#8220;Jenny Lind has fairly enchanted me&#8230; her song with two concertante flutes is perhaps the most incredible feat in the way of bravura singing that can possibly be heard\u201d.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn2\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[2]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The character of Vielka, from Meyerbeer&#8217;s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ein_Feldlager_in_Schlesien\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ein Feldlager in Schlesien<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> (The Camp of Silesia) 1844, was a role specifically written for Lind but not premiered by her. Nevertheless the Gypsy Song from the opera became one of the arias most associated with Lind, and she was called on to sing it wherever she performed in concert. Her operatic repertoire included the title roles in <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lucia_di_Lammermoor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lucia di Lammermoor<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maria_di_Rohan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maria di Rohan<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">,Norma, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/La_sonnambula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La sonnambula<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/La_vestale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La vestale<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> as well as Susanna in <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Marriage_of_Figaro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Marriage of Figaro<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, Adina in <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/L%27elisir_d%27amore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L&#8217;elisir d&#8217;amore<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and Alice in Robert le diable.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn3\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[3]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Mendelssohn who was greatly enamoured with Lind wrote the soprano part of the Oratorio Elijah with her voice in mind, apparently giving great attention to the tessitura of the aria around the note F-sharp (F#5), which was a note in her range that Mendelssohn supposedly found irresistibly charming.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn4\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[4]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Devastated by Mendelssohn\u2019s early death, Lind felt unable to perform the piece at its premiere.<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Her fame had spread and when she arrived in England, she took the English audiences by storm. Queen Victoria herself attended all sixteen of Lind\u2019s premiere performances. <\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn5\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[5]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Of her performances at Her Majesty\u2019s in London it was written by the reviewer in The Sun, on 5 May 1847, \u2018So highly had Jenny Lind<\/span><span dir=\"RTL\" lang=\"AR-SA\">\u2019<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">s musical powers been praised, that we went almost prepared to be disappointed.\u00a0We expected to find her a second Sontag from the descriptions we had read, but we certainly were not prepared to find, as we did find, the beautiful tones of a Sontag, united to the powers of a Grisi, the compass of a Malibran, the more than flexibility of a Persiani, and the correctness of intonation of the most perfect of musical instruments.\u00a0It is impossible by language to convey any idea of what the voice of Jenny Lind really is, because it is so surpassingly beautiful \u2013 so superior to any other voice, uniting, as it does, the perfection of all voices, that there is no standard to which it can be compared.\u00a0It is, in fact, itself the standard, as being the nearest approach to perfection of any voice ever heard, and hence the difficulty, nay, the absolute impossibility of doing justice by description to the powers of Jenny Lind.\u00a0Truly has she been called the nightingale, for she possesses in the utmost perfection the <\/span><span dir=\"RTL\" lang=\"AR-SA\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">jug<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201d note of the bird, and also that marvellous power of throwing, as it were, the warble into the distance \u2013 now dying away, and now swelling again, even as an organ does \u2013 a power possessed by no other human voice that we have ever heard.\u2019<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn6\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[6]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">In 1849 after performing at two successful seasons at Her Majesty\u2019s in London and an extensive tour of Great Britain she gave her final performance at Her Majesty\u2019s and from the retired from the opera stage.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">A next chapter was to open with a collaboration in America with the entrepreneur and showman B.T. Barnum of \u2018Barnum and Bailey\u2019s Circus\u2019. Before her arrival, Barnum had managed to whip up a fever by an immense publicity campaign, which resulted in what was known in the press as, Lindomania. The eight months of concert tours were a huge success, and by the end of the New York engagement, the Lind concerts had generated some $87,055.89, which would be over three million dollars in today\u2019s money. The total receipts for the concerts amounted to $712,161.43, being in 2020 the equivalent of $24.5 million. <\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Lind commanded a guaranteed fee $1,000.00 per performance. Later, as a result of Lind tiring of Barnum\u2019s relentless promotion, she invoked a clause in her contract to terminate the agreement and continued to tour under her own management. <\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Her devotion and generosity to charitable causes remained a key aspect of her career and greatly enhanced her international popularity, even among the unmusical, as she chose to give most of it away to charities she loved\u2014primarily music scholarships and private schools. Some of the recipients were in the United States and the rest were mostly in England and Sweden.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn7\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[7]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">During the American tour she met her husband, pianist and conductor, Otto Goldschmidt. In 1852 they returned to Europe where they initially lived in Dresden Germany. It was in Dresden that her first child was born. Later, in England, two other children were born to Jenny and Otto. She refused requests to return to the opera stage but continued to give concerts.<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The critic H. F. Chorley, who admired Lind, described her voice as having &#8220;two octaves in compass \u2013 from D to D \u2013 having a higher possible note or two, available on rare occasions; and that the lower half of the register and the upper one were of two distinct qualities. The former was not strong \u2013 veiled, if not husky; and apt to be out of tune. The latter was rich, brilliant and powerful \u2013 finest in its highest portions.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">In 1883, at the request of the Prince of Wales, <\/span><span dir=\"RTL\" lang=\"AR-SA\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">she accepted the post of first Professor of Singing in the Royal College of Music\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn8\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[8]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">She believed in an all-round musical training for her pupils, insisting that, in addition to their vocal studies, they were instructed in <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solf%C3%A8ge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">solf\u00e8ge<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, piano, harmony, diction, deportment and at least one foreign language.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn9\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[9]<\/span><\/sup><\/a> <a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn10\"><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\">[10]<\/span><\/sup><\/a><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Among the numerous recognitions of her remarkable career and vocal art still visible more than 130 years since she died in 1887; there are streets named for Jenny Lind in a dozen or more American cities &#8211; but two towns bear her name as well: Jenny Lind, Arkansas and Jenny Lind, California! Her name is honoured at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, and her image adorned the Swedish 50-krona banknote. Another interesting fact is an<\/span><span lang=\"NL\"> Australian schooner was named <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Jenny Lind<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> in her honour. In 1857, it was wrecked in a creek on the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Queensland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queensland<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> coast; the creek was accordingly named Jenny Lind Creek.<\/span><sup><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a title=\"\" href=\"applewebdata:\/\/A68BEFF5-61FF-4342-97C8-43E0CCD2CCA7#_edn11\">[11]<\/a><\/span><\/sup><\/p><p><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/p><\/div><\/div><div><div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-9f23404 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"9f23404\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column Als sie 1842 nach Stockholm zur\u00fcckkehrte, wurde ihre deutlich verbesserte Stimme deutlich, als sie in der Titelrolle der Norma auftrat.<\/p>\n<p>Bei einer Reise durch D\u00e4nemark im Jahr 1843 lernte sie den Schriftsteller Hans Christian Andersen kennen, der sich in sie verliebte. Die beiden wurden gute Freunde, doch seine romantischen Gef\u00fchle wurden nicht erwidert. Man nimmt an, dass sie ihn zu drei seiner M\u00e4rchen inspirierte: \u201eUnter der S\u00e4ule\u201c, \u201eDer Engel\u201c und \u201eDie Nachtigall\u201c und m\u00f6glicherweise auch zu \u201eDie Schneek\u00f6nigin\u201c, nachdem Lind sie eiskalt zur\u00fcckgewiesen hatte. Der Pianist und Komponist Ignaz Moscheles schrieb: \u201eJenny Lind hat mich geradezu verzaubert \u2026 ihr Lied mit zwei konzertanten Fl\u00f6ten ist vielleicht die unglaublichste Leistung an Bravourgesang, die man h\u00f6ren kann.\u201c<br \/>\nDie Rolle der Vielka aus Meyerbeers Ein Feldlager in Schlesien (1844) wurde speziell f\u00fcr Lind geschrieben, aber nicht von ihr uraufgef\u00fchrt. Trotzdem wurde das Zigeunerlied aus der Oper zu einer der Arien, die am meisten mit Lind in Verbindung gebracht werden, und sie wurde aufgefordert, es \u00fcberall zu singen, wo sie Konzerte gab. Ihr Opernrepertoire umfasste die Titelrollen in Lucia di Lammermoor, Maria di Rohan, Norma, La sonnambula und La vestale sowie Susanna in Die Hochzeit des Figaro, Adina in L&#039;elisir d&#039;amore und Alice in Robert le diable.<br \/>\nMendelssohn, der in Lind verliebt war, schrieb den Sopranpart des Oratoriums Elias mit ihrer Stimme im Hinterkopf und schenkte der Tessitura der Arie um die Note Fis (F#5) gro\u00dfe Aufmerksamkeit, eine Note in ihrem Tonumfang, die Mendelssohn angeblich unwiderstehlich reizvoll fand. Lind war durch Mendelssohns fr\u00fchen Tod am Boden zerst\u00f6rt und f\u00fchlte sich nicht in der Lage, das St\u00fcck bei seiner Urauff\u00fchrung aufzuf\u00fchren.<br \/>\nIhr Ruhm hatte sich herumgesprochen und als sie in England ankam, eroberte sie das englische Publikum im Sturm. K\u00f6nigin Victoria selbst besuchte alle sechzehn Premierenauff\u00fchrungen von Lind.<br \/>\n\u00dcber ihre Auftritte bei Her Majesty\u2019s in London schrieb der Kritiker in The Sun am 5. Mai 1847: \u201eJenny Linds musikalisches Talent wurde so hoch gelobt, dass wir fast darauf gefasst waren, entt\u00e4uscht zu werden. Nach den Beschreibungen, die wir gelesen hatten, erwarteten wir eine zweite Sontag, aber wir waren ganz sicher nicht darauf vorbereitet, die wundersch\u00f6nen T\u00f6ne einer Sontag zu finden, vereint mit der Kraft einer Grisi, dem Tonumfang einer Malibran, der mehr als gro\u00dfen Flexibilit\u00e4t einer Persiani und der akkuraten Intonation des vollkommensten aller Musikinstrumente. Es ist unm\u00f6glich, mit Worten eine Vorstellung davon zu vermitteln, was Jenny Linds Stimme wirklich ist, denn sie ist so \u00fcberragend sch\u00f6n \u2013 jeder anderen Stimme so \u00fcberlegen und vereinigt die Vollkommenheit aller Stimmen, dass es keinen Ma\u00dfstab gibt, mit dem sie verglichen werden k\u00f6nnte. Tats\u00e4chlich ist sie selbst der Ma\u00dfstab, da sie der Perfektion aller jemals geh\u00f6rten Stimmen am n\u00e4chsten kommt, und daher ist es schwierig, ja geradezu unm\u00f6glich, Jenny Linds F\u00e4higkeiten durch eine Beschreibung gerecht zu werden. Sie wurde wirklich die Nachtigall genannt, denn sie besitzt in h\u00f6chster Perfektion den \u201eKrug\u201c-Ton des Vogels und auch diese wunderbare F\u00e4higkeit, das Zwitschern sozusagen in die Ferne zu werfen \u2013 mal verklingend, mal wieder anschwellend, genau wie eine Orgel \u2013 eine F\u00e4higkeit, die keine andere menschliche Stimme besitzt, die wir jemals geh\u00f6rt haben.\u201c<br \/>\nIm Jahr 1849 gab sie nach zwei erfolgreichen Spielzeiten bei Her Majesty\u2019s in London und einer ausgedehnten Tournee durch Gro\u00dfbritannien ihre letzte Vorstellung bei Her Majesty\u2019s und zog sich von der Opernb\u00fchne zur\u00fcck.  <\/p>\n<p>Ein n\u00e4chstes Kapitel sollte mit einer Zusammenarbeit in Amerika mit dem Unternehmer und Showman BT Barnum von \u201eBarnum and Bailey\u2019s Circus\u201c er\u00f6ffnet werden. Vor ihrer Ankunft hatte Barnum es geschafft, durch eine immense Werbekampagne ein Fieber zu entfachen, das in der Presse als Lindomania bekannt wurde. Die achtmonatigen Konzerttourneen waren ein gro\u00dfer Erfolg, und bis zum Ende des New Yorker Engagements hatten die Lind-Konzerte rund $87.055,89 eingespielt, was in heutigem Geld \u00fcber drei Millionen Dollar entsprechen w\u00fcrde. Die Gesamteinnahmen f\u00fcr die Konzerte beliefen sich auf $712.161,43, was im Jahr 2020 einem Gegenwert von $24,5 Millionen entspricht.<br \/>\nLind verlangte eine garantierte Gage von $1.000,00 pro Auftritt. Sp\u00e4ter, als Lind Barnums unerm\u00fcdliche Werbung satt hatte, berief sie sich auf eine Klausel in ihrem Vertrag, um den Vertrag zu k\u00fcndigen, und setzte ihre Tournee unter ihrer eigenen Leitung fort. <\/p>\n<p>Ihr Engagement und ihre Gro\u00dfz\u00fcgigkeit f\u00fcr wohlt\u00e4tige Zwecke blieben ein wichtiger Aspekt ihrer Karriere und steigerten ihre internationale Popularit\u00e4t, sogar unter den Unmusikalischen, enorm, da sie den Gro\u00dfteil ihres Geldes an Wohlt\u00e4tigkeitsorganisationen spendete, die ihr am Herzen lagen \u2013 haupts\u00e4chlich Musikstipendien und Privatschulen. Einige der Empf\u00e4nger waren in den Vereinigten Staaten und die \u00fcbrigen vor allem in England und Schweden. <\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der Amerikatournee lernte sie ihren Ehemann, den Pianisten und Dirigenten Otto Goldschmidt, kennen. 1852 kehrten sie nach Europa zur\u00fcck, wo sie zun\u00e4chst in Dresden, Deutschland, lebten. In Dresden wurde ihr erstes Kind geboren. Sp\u00e4ter bekamen Jenny und Otto in England zwei weitere Kinder. Sie lehnte Anfragen ab, auf die Opernb\u00fchne zur\u00fcckzukehren, gab aber weiterhin Konzerte.<\/p>\n<p>Der Kritiker HF Chorley, der Lind bewunderte, beschrieb ihre Stimme als \u201ezwei Oktaven im Umfang \u2013 von D bis D \u2013 mit einem oder zwei h\u00f6heren m\u00f6glichen T\u00f6nen, die nur selten vorkommen; und dass die untere H\u00e4lfte des Registers und die obere H\u00e4lfte zwei unterschiedliche Qualit\u00e4ten aufwiesen. Letztere war reich, brillant und kraftvoll \u2013 am feinsten in ihren h\u00f6chsten Lagen.\u201c<br \/>\nIm Jahr 1883 nahm sie auf Ersuchen des Prinzen von Wales \u201edie Stelle der ersten Professorin f\u00fcr Gesang am Royal College of Music an\u201c.  <\/p>\n<p>Sie legte Wert auf eine umfassende musikalische Ausbildung ihrer Sch\u00fcler und bestand darauf, dass diese zus\u00e4tzlich zum Gesangsunterricht auch in Solf\u00e8ge, Klavier, Harmonielehre, Diktion, Verhalten und mindestens einer Fremdsprache unterrichtet w\u00fcrden.<br \/>\nZu den zahlreichen Anerkennungen ihrer bemerkenswerten Karriere und Gesangskunst, die auch mehr als 130 Jahre nach ihrem Tod im Jahr 1887 noch sichtbar sind, geh\u00f6ren Stra\u00dfen in einem Dutzend oder mehr amerikanischen St\u00e4dten, die nach Jenny Lind benannt sind \u2013 aber auch zwei St\u00e4dte tragen ihren Namen: Jenny Lind, Arkansas und Jenny Lind, Kalifornien! Ihr Name wird in der Mammoth Cave in Kentucky geehrt, und ihr Bild ziert die schwedische 50-Kronen-Banknote.
