TIP TWO

Gyaan Lyon, Jnr dreaming of being the next Luciano Pavarotti

Stand in a space where you feel free and not cramped, this can be anywhere inside your house or outside. If you can’t stand sit comfortably in a chair.

Now the fun starts try and put your thoughts down into the soles of your feet. You can do it!Wiggle your toes to help you put your attention as low as possible.

Now imagine you are going to breath in through you feet…. A funny thought hey? But try it, you can do it! Just imagine little parachutes are opening up into the ground when you breathe in and when you breathe out slowly they contract back into your feet. Practise this for a few minutes when ever you think of it for a week, by the end of that time you will be very good at breathing low and grounding yourself. Remember to breath slowly, even when you breathe in quickly it must not be done wildly or rushed as this could mean that you are just snapping high breaths and thinking you are breathing through the soles of your feet, but you will be fooling yourself.

Once you start to feel that you are able to breathe very low into your feet, you can start to imagine that the air is traveling up your legs and filling up your belly with air. Then breathe out imagining the air traveling down your legs and out through your feet. Repeat this in a relaxed way, wriggle your toes, shake your arms and legs to make sure you are not ‘standing like a stiff board”

You can practice this every time you think of it if you want, or make a time a couple of times in the day for you exercise like in the morning when you wake up and before you go to bed.
